Currently, The Town Host A Population Of 2,200 And With Our Close Proximity To Piedmont Triad International Airport, Greensboro, Winston-Salem And Interstates 73 & 40, Our Town Is Growing Expeditiously With Approved And Proposed New Apartments, Townhomes, Single-family Houses And Businesses. The Town Operates In A Council–Manager Form Of Government With A Mayor And Six-member Board Of Aldermen. The Town Consists Of 30 Full-time Staff In Police, Public Works, Finance, Water Treatment, Administration And Planning And Zoning Along With A Part-time Fire Department. The Ideal Candidate Must Possess Managerial Experience Working In Local Government And Be An Energetic And Facilitative Leader With Excellent Communication Skills, Strong Interpersonal Characteristics And Solid Decision-Making Abilities. Candidates Should Be Accomplished In Budgeting, Grant Writing & Disbursement, Economic Development And Effectively Represent The Town Publicly, Positively Engage Citizens And Promote Community Involvement. Desired Qualifications Include Graduation From An Accredited College Or University With A Bachelor's Degree In Public Administration, Business Or A Related Field And/or 15 Plus Years’ Experience In Local Government And Public Administration Including Management Experience In North Carolina Municipal Government.
